Missing: Mr. Rajeev Saraswat

an email that i received:

Thank you for your coverage on-line on the horrendous attacks in
Mumbai

I am concerned about a missing relative. My uncle Mr Rajeev Saraswat (aged 50) is still missing. He was in the Taj on the fourth floor attending a training session at the hotel organised by his employers Hindustan Petroleum.

We know that he was injured - he was wounded in one hand from gunfire, but he has not made any contact since Thursday morning. His cell phone is not being answered, and though we are told by the Taj that he was
taken away and sent to hospital, no-one knows that with certainty and no-one appears able to trace him at present.

His name does not appear anywhere on the lists of the wounded, and none of the hospitals have him registered as being admitted. Even the twitter blogs - as brilliant as they are - do not have his name anywhere and I need help finding him urgently.

We are very concerned about him - I am based in the UK and cannot get any useful information. Are you able to help?

This is on my own behalf and on behalf of all those relatives dealing with the double trauma of this appalling attack as well as lack of news on a missing dear relative.

Please help!

With Profound Grief, I have to inform that we have received an email to confirm. We have Lost Mr.Rajeev Saraswat forever He was hit during the cross firing, R.I.P.

"Sorted from the spreadsheet posted earlier, which was in turn transcribed (by Shivmeet Deol, Rahul Nambiar, Kalapi Gajjar, Lisa Goldman, Noelita Coelho, Sameer Gharat - thank you, you sweet people) from the scans of the faxed lists posted by n (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). We spotted many duplicates in the list, so please don't regard it as authoritative. This list has been typed from an fax, where some information was not clear, so there may be transcription errors."

    Media, Please Leave Them Alone!

Good News! Guests in Trident/Taj is being Evacuated.
I applaud the media for being sensitive in this time of crisis. I request all media persons to maintain their calm and resist their temptation to speak to the hostages. Please understand that they must be really tensed and worked up. They would speak to the media, I am certain, there would be some people who would like to speak to the media. They would come out. Please. Please. Please. Have Patience.

    UPDATE

Greek millionaire Andreas Liveras was one of those shot dead in the Taj Hotel. Owner of Liveras Yacht, which owns and charters luxury yachts, Andreas had come to Mumbai to scout for business opportunities. His decision to stay at the Taj was influenced by his fondness for the food served at the hotel. French nuclear scientist George Vendryas was another notable person who was staying at the hotel. Vendryas and his wife were in Mumbai to attend a three-day conference of the Indian Nuclear Society which began on November 24. reactor and won the It was also a close shave for Cricket Australia lawyer Dean Kino and BCCI internal auditor P V Srinivasan who were guests at the Taj on Wednesday evening. . In fact, Kino had to endure torrid times. "Yes. He was actually fired at by the terrorists, but some brave fire brigade officers rescued him,'' BCCI's Ratnakar Shetty said. Three World Bank officials, who were in the city to monitor projects, were detained at the Taj and Oberoi hotels. Gaurav Joshi, R S Phatak and Satya Mishra were part of a larger bank team which was in the city for a few days. While the rest of the team, including MUTP project leader Hubert Nove Josserand, left earlier, the three stayed behind. Suhel Seth, CEO of Equus Advertising, had a providential escape. "I had stepped out to attend a wedding and on my way back to the Taj, I received a message from hotel employees saying there was a law and order problem and I should not go back to the hotel. I diverted my car to The Taj President at Cuffe Parade. I am really grateful to Taj authorities for informing me on time.''

    Israeli Commandoes In Mumbai

Israeli commandoes have flown in to mumbai to rescue israeli nationals from the nariman house.Israeli commandoes who are known to be very good at handling such kind of situations have been pressed into action immediately.

    Taj Combat Over

The army has finally concluded its final assault on the terrorists stationed inside the taj hotel at the gateway of india. The army has got the better off the terrorists.OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION OF THE DEATH TOLL IS AWAITED.

    Things Are Getting Calmer.

thats the latest that i hear from my journo friends.

    Fuck resilience. We Need Answers.

How the hell did these terrorists enter from the seas. ? can anyone enter like that, without being seen? WAO. (pun intended)How on earth did they walk so calmly with arms and that too, arm in arm?. Why did we buggers see them and not do anything… ? Did we think that the guns are toys from leo mattel?

We believe that Guests are god… don’t we… god damn id.

See their state, see them travel from the 5 star residence to the roofless sky…

Response to the stimuli Or reaction only when there is action…. We will not act… only react, isn’t it… How many bomb blasts, how many deaths, how many blemishes would it take for us to preempt terror… especially when there has been a spate of terror attacks? When will we wake from our sleep and when we will get up and scream.

We have been far too silent… and our act of cowardice and numbness is called “resilience”

I just saw an interview of Mr. prime Minister, who was reading a speech drafted by his secretary. He didn’t seem to believe in even one word or syllable of what he said. And would have thios been averted if it was some other politician like say an advani.…. NO. Terrorists have no religion.. And if there is something that politicious RELIGIOSLY work for, that is Poll agenda and personal propaganda. Does anything else matter?. I( hear that Advani and Manmohan singh are coming to Mumbai. WHY! Will they get the dead alive… ? will they change take some path breaking action… ?(But, There are no paths left now) Or do you want to tell us “the situation is under control< people are safe” WE are NOT safe… and you ministers will come for your show, and some freaking fools will get fooled and believe you care. (And what kind of people are these who get fooled… With no spine of their own)Politicions.

Politicos, We don’t want you to come to Bombay. We don’t need you. We can manage ourselves. You would come take a 1000 people for your security and leisure.

Be where you are.You will definitely get channels and papers to interview… Probably you could do a chroma shoot and then replace the backdrop to Marine Lines or Gateway of India. It is not about which politicion.. It is about attituude that forms the DNA of any Politician.

    And No.,.. don’t feel sorry.

For that’s what we have been doing for long. Get up. Ask for real answers. Speak up Mumbai. Speak up Bombay. Let’s help our people, and our guests who came here to our beloved country.

I sweared that I will shed no tear until I wiped a hundred. But I cant help it.My heart is heavy. And I am in a pool of tears. Not because I fear or think that worst is yet to come. But Because…. I want to vent it out… and start a fresh to move on, and pick another call of distress. To speak hope and to say to myself. Your Loved one is safe. Your Loved one is safe. Your loved one is safe.
